I can’t believe people like this computer generated stuff man! I prefer to play it all out, because to me that shows skill. The pc did all the work for him because u can clearly see he cant keep a beat on his own. I would give him his props if he could at least play and keep on beat. I aint knockn fruity loops cause its a nice program for those who cant afford my weapons of choice; ie the mrs1608, mpc 2000xl, and the roland fantom x8. I understand ya first couple of tracks being made with fruity loops but all of em! Come on dude be serious. Let me hear u make something on the roland or mp. I aint even bout to get on ya vocab dunn. U got “stacks” whooptee do; but u aint got my respect, and I garuntee a lot of people agrre with what I’m saying.

I feel dumber after watching this video. Dude may have made his hit, and recycled versions of that hit, but from this video he doesn’t seem like he knows anything about music.

Young Producers/Beatmakers: there maybe something to learn from Souljaboy and getting into the business, but there is nothing musical to be learned from this video.

Hey J- Knockin his skills is one thing… but how r u gonna dis somebody’s tools. i use a combo of software & hardware, but i can make tracks on FL that murder most cats beats!!! u dont like computer generated music? what do u think a MPC is??? Cats kill me with that nonsense. FL is a sampler / sequencer like any other. if u cant make heat with FL, then u cant make heat with an MPC, and vice versa. yeah the stock sounds suck, but thats what vst’s are for. and btw, give me SEVERAL GIGABITES of uncompressed samples in a VST over a few hundred MB of squashed, over-compressed, over-looped samples in a fantom any day! Not dissin the fantom, its hot too… i use one often. im just showin u how one-sided your comments are.

But Soulja Boy is definitely trash musically.. I would like to have the money he has, but not his life because a lotta people don’t respect him musically(including me)..

And yes, I use FL Studio too.. I just wanna make beats I didn’t know that niggas were hatin’ back in the day over a *PROGRAM*.. Besides, you can do more stuff on FL Studio than on a MPC any day.. And if you have a MPD32 controller, then that’s worth more than any MPC when it comes down to features and creativity..

But then again, it’s those limits on the software/hardware that may launch your music into greatness.. Just a thought.

Actually, he could get sued for using FL demo, demo’s EULA usually they can’t be use for commercial purposes. The skill and cash part = blame it on the industry/people/education whatever you prefer. Blaming won’t really make any difference. But giving it all some thought mite.

Hate him or not, the boy is making money, while the world still text hating on Soulja boy, the video demo show that he’s hands on, in tune or not, i’m sure he’s applying quantization after the “performance”, which is the whole point, hip hop is the easiest form of music to emulate using simple very capable tools.

The problem with all the Soulja Boy haters is that he shows how u can do more with less thanks to technology. All the MPC’s, Motifs, Fantoms, etc. are all emulatible by software, don’t blame this kid, blame the software technologies, like drum machines ain’t software in a box. Hip Hop/Rap is not music in the traditional sense of the word, it’s all about buggin’ out having fun over drum patterns, it’s not Mozart people.

Aint nothin wrong with Fruity Loops at all. Jus like any program you have to know what you are doing. Soulja jus use the basic sound packs that come with the program. Theres nothin wrong with that, thats jus how he roll/make millions!!!!! You can remake anybeat with the program is you have the instruments. Programs dont matter at all.
