I’ll be honest and say I’m not to happy with this site. When I initially came up with the idea of Hip Hop Makers, it was suppose to be Myspace/Digg/Beat Store, etc. But in reality I was working on this site alone and couldn’t do half the things that I wanted to do, and I still can’t add a lot of those things.
But I do understand the blog software that is running this site a lot more, and I can add some new features. These features have been floating in my head for weeks. So please let me know what features you would like to see on this site:
- Music Section ( Listen to new music)
- Beat Battle Section
- Video Section – Sorted by interviews, tutorials, studio tours, etc
- Job Board
- Forum to talk
- Better Improved Image Gallery
- Software – Section for new software, reviews, links to free software
- Producer Blogs – I can possibly pick a couple up & coming producers and have them take us on their journey as they try to produce and sell beats
- Digg Like Feature – Users submit website links and people vote if it’s a good link or not
- Podcast – Maybe Bi-Weekly
- Sample Download Section – People submit samples to a shared section
- Music Reviews – Review of new CDs that come out
- Producer Audio Player – Up coming producer submit beats, and have a pop up window of others producers beats play to get free promotion and inspiration
- Music Making Beginner Guide – Detailed guide to making music with music equipment suggestion, F.A.Qs and more.
- Collaboration Board – Connect with each other, rappers look for singer, producers look for song writers, etc.
- Store – Buy samples and software here
- Music Wiki – Information section where producers share information on making music
If you don’t see something on this list, please recommend it below. Also let me know what features you want to see most on the list above.
The feature above may not come over night because there are so many things that I want to do. But by you voicing what is important to you. I can try to focus more on one area.
To be honest. I enjoy the site as is. it’s simple, and dedicated to us producers. Once i think you add all those other features like beats battles, and such. The site becomes ordianry. There are so many sites out there that have those kinds of features. I like the simplicity of this sitem, and just raw facts. I think adding a bunch of stuff might turn your site into something else, or head into a different direction in what you may have originally planned. if so, cool. Only thing i would say to improve on,is site updates. I loiok foward to coming to this page on a reg., but usually get new info every once week. keep doin ya thing though. peace

i think the forum,producer blogs,sample download section, and a few others will be great for the site but i have to agree with da other guy comment. i would add a few things but still keep it simple, there are a lot of sites with some of the same features. this is a great site for knowledge, keep up the good work.
I think something that would make the website more strong is reviewing and recommending certain services and/or companies and/or companies within the hip hop business. Example… Lets say for music production recommending drummaboy or dj tump and providing latest work and the going rates and how to get in touch with them. For videos and documentaries… review the best companies and give the info to get in contact with them like media works communications one of the best known in the music biz for music videos, epks, documentaries, etc. and provide website addy’s http://www.mwctv.com, or streetcred.com, or whatever!! just get us in touch with the best in the biz for the resources we are looking for!
As long as you still have tuts, I’m cool with the new editions.
I’m a fan of the tutorials here. Other pages sound really cool, but you may want to try to implement 1 at a time. – see what hits you get & what ppl respond to more.
