Roger, Parliament, etc were using vocoders, not auto-tune (like Just said). Bottom line is, auto-tune has been worn out waaaaay more than vocoding has EVER been…It’s definitely tired. As was said in the beginning….BE ORIGINAL!

Interesting conference! However, after viewing the footage at the 5:14 mark, I find it rather interesting that these producers are even commenting on the use of AutoTune and questioning who’s original…nost of them are followers for that matter. Sampling is not original…9th Wonder, Just Blaze, Pete Rock, et al. They used a form of soul music that gets recycled over and over again…so in that realm of production, I think that all of them are followers of similar forms of hip-hop music. Sampling falls in the same category. Everyone does it, but it’s how you do it…GTFOH
