Site improvements on the way. Feedback Please!!!!

I’ll be honest and say I’m not to happy with this site. When I initially came up with the idea of Hip Hop Makers, it was suppose to be Myspace/Digg/Beat Store, etc. But in reality I was working on this site alone and couldn’t do half the things that I wanted to do, and I still can’t add a lot of those things.

But I do understand the blog software that is running this site a lot more, and I can add some new features. These features have been floating in my head for weeks. So please let me know what features you would like to see on this site:

Music Section ( Listen to new music)
Beat Battle Section
Video Section – Sorted by interviews, tutorials, studio tours, etc
Job Board
Forum to talk
Better Improved Image Gallery
Software – Section for new software, reviews, links to free software
Producer Blogs – I can possibly pick a couple up & coming producers and have them take us on their journey as they try to produce and sell beats
Digg Like Feature – Users submit website links and people vote if it’s a good link or not
Podcast – Maybe Bi-Weekly
Sample Download Section – People submit samples to a shared section
Music Reviews – Review of new CDs that come out
Producer Audio Player – Up coming producer submit beats, and have a pop up window of others producers beats play to get free promotion and inspiration
Music Making Beginner Guide – Detailed guide to making music with music equipment suggestion, F.A.Qs and more.
Collaboration Board – Connect with each other, rappers look for singer, producers look for song writers, etc.
Store – Buy samples and software here
Music Wiki – Information section where producers share information on making music

If you don’t see something on this list, please recommend it below. Also let me know what features you want to see most on the list above.

The feature above may not come over night because there are so many things that I want to do. But by you voicing what is important to you. I can try to focus more on one area.

Earlier this month I did a post on Why You Should Vote for Barack Obama. Over 393 people have read the post and I hope it has helped in making a decision.

Update

As you know, Barack Obama won. It is a great day. We have our first black president.

I hope this is very uplifting to many communities, and races. Thanks to everyone that went out and supported Obama.

For you out there who didnt support Barack Obama. He will become out in January weither you like it or not, and as he said on his victory speech, we as a nation need to come together and work to improve the problems that the United States currently has. So lets come together and support our new president and hope for change in this country.

I’m not going to go into another long post today. I just want to say some things that I feel you should think about before you go to the polls.

Why vote for Obama

Uplifting a Race - Barack winning would be very uplifting to many poverty ridden communities. I believe a African American as President will be very uplifting in a country that once had slavery. It will show younger generations that you can strive for more, and hard work is necessary for change, and maybe this country has improved for the better.
End the war - Nearly 35,000 men and women have died or have been wounded in Iraq
He is endorsed by: LA Times, Colin Powell, New York Times, Oprah , Hulk Hogan , Robert de Niro , Former President Carter, Chicago Tribune, Eminem, Tom Hanks, and sooooo many more.
Taxes - If you earn less than $250,000, your taxes will decrease.
Health care - Barack Obama’s health care plan is the universal plan that our country really needs, it is a good step towards a better plan and it will help to lower health care costs.
Racism - Black people are not inferior to white people or any other race, but you can see very well in videos of McCain and Palin rallies that some white people still think that. It want to shut them up when Obama is in office and does a better job than Bush. They will look stupid.

10-29 MCCAIN RALLY Video: RACIST SUPPORTERS, I’ll never vote for a black president

I have never been this big into any elections. But times have changed, and I’m fed up with how the U.S. is run. I’m just overall ready for change.

We are in the position where things can finally change, and as you look at the information below, you should get upset. One, by how racist McCain supporters can be ( not all of them ), but also how McCain is very similar to George W. Bush, and we don’t need four to eight more years of the current situation that the United States is in.

Comparison of Both Candidates
	Barack Obama	John McCain

Economy	Barack Obama would provide a "middle class tax cut" of $500 to $1,000, while ending most of the Bush tax cuts, including the one on capital gains taxes.	John McCain proposes to retain the Bush tax cuts, repeal the Alternate Minimum Tax, double the personal exemption for dependents, cut the corporate tax rate from 35 to 25 percent.
Energy	Barack Obama is against domestic drilling for oil. Obama supports a number of spending initiatives to support the development of "green" renewable energy technologies, including wind and solar.	He wants oil off shore drilling. He supports the development of nuclear energy.
Iraq	Barack Obama wants to withdraw forces from Iraq and generally rely more on diplomatic initiatives to deal with problem countries like Iran. He opposes missile defense and weapons in space.	John McCain supports staying in Iraq until victory is attained, and reserves the use of punitive sanctions to deal with countries, such as Iran, and even the use of military force — even if it takes 100 years to do so.
Education	Barack Obama would double funding for quality charter schools.	John McCain plans to spend $500 million of current education funds toward building virtual schools.

Why do I choose Barack Obama?

I have lived in many poor communities. If you watched any of the debates, Obama has an understanding of what the United States needs to get better. McCain seems to be OK with most things that are currently going on. He sides with our current president more than 95 percent of the time ( Video ) whenever a new legislation bill is presented.

When I see Barack Obama talk, I see a strong individual who stands by what he says and wants to see a better country. When I see McCain or Sarah Palin talk, I see many inconsistencies (Examples: Gay Marriage, Confederate Flag , Taxes, War , Abortion, and a number of items). Someone who thinks the economy is great, then three hours later says it’s in a terrible state of emergency.

During the first debate, a few things stood out to me. Obama wants to not forever drill oil in Iraq - he wants to come up with new technology to change the current dependency that the U.S. has on oil from other countries. How can that be wrong? Especially if you’re not a fan of the rising gas prices. But McCain wants to continue to drill.

For U.S. funding, McCain wants all funding for programs to stop, except for continuing to pay for the war and supporting veterans. But the supporting of veterans from McCain is questionable. Also check out: McCain’s Factual Military voting record.

McCain then puts down Obama for wanting to supporting school and education. In fact, McCain wants to cut school funding and have virtual schools (K-12). Can you believe this? I personally believe the success of the future will depend highly on today’s youth, and it depends a great deal on their school education. I guess McCain plan expects every household (even low-income families) to have a computer and a great Internet connection. It sounds like a joke to me, but it is so real in McCain’s eyes.

America already is viewed as a power greedy country, and I don’t want what has been happening under Bush to continue. McCain is no different. Are you OK with spending $12 billion per month on the war while your local schools can’t afford to buy books and homeless people are still on the street? Oh, and more than 2,873 American soldiers have died in Iraq and 21,572 have been wounded . Live Link reported there’s an average of 18 veteran suicides per day. Are you OK with this? I just think it’s time for change, and things will not improve under McCain’s watch.

What is really wrong with McCain?

Once again, I support our troops; I have family out there in Iraq. But people are dying, and how much is this war costing? A lot!!! It needs to come to an end. But McCain has no problem with it.

I want a better future, and McCain will not bring a better future. He isn’t trying to support school funding in a good way, which is the foundation for the future. He will let the war go on for 100 years (which you are paying for). Plus he is a supporter of the person who initially lied about the current war in Iraq. Which is not about terrorism, it’s about oil ( Link 2 ), and they need to end it.

So please go out and vote on November 4th, or try to do it earlier from home. What I’m hearing from people who work in the Obama camp is that in fear of a lot of support for Obama, voters might be denied voting privileges and turned away if you look like your going to vote for Obama.

Please, let’s not forget how Bush beat Al Gore in 2000 , and how this scam happened in 2004: Was the 2004 Election Stolen? / How They Stole Ohio.

I get very bored of the radio, so I spend time a lot of time browsing the Internet looking for fresh new talent. Here are a list of six Myspace emcees you should check out.

	Nicatyne One of my favorite emcees to listen to is Nictayne, who represents Sacramento, California. He has a unique sound and isn’t afraid to try new things. You can catch him singing and rapping on some of the tracks he produces his self. Nicatyne has an ear for music. Along with the playing the drums, Nicatyne can play just about any other instrument from the piano to the not so conventional xylophone — a skill that allows him to fully experiment with his sound. Nicatyne’s commited to his craft, and you can hear it in his creativity. He has a CD coming out soon called “Secondhand Smoke.” www.myspace.com/nicatynebeats

	Eyetel I have known Eyetel for years. He has a fun, energetic sound that is very entertaining to listen to. He always has had a passion for music. During a lot of his high school years (He attended Crenshaw High), he would walk around with a sign that read: "Will Rap for Money." And that’s exactly what he did. He came out with several CDs and mixtapes, and also has been known to battle and beat a couple emcees. Eyetel recently put out a CD called "Straight From Tha Crib," which has been well received. I actually shot and edited a low budget video for him called "Stop", I also designed his Web site, and I continue to help because I see talent. 	Siqteen Bars Siqsteen Barz is a triple threat producer/emcee/engineer out of Los Angeles who always is searching for new, innovative ways to be creative with the art of music. In Siqsteen’s early days of music production, his tracks were very low-scale due to a lack of musical equipment accessible to him (He was using Fruity Loops). But regardless of this limitation, he produced quality tracks for himself. He produced most of Eyetel’s CD (above) and a number of other artists from L.A. to the Bay. Siqsteen recently released a free mixtape that you can download off his Myspace page. It’s called "I’m So Serious Mixtape" that plays off the "The Dark Knight" (Batman) theme. 	Rob Grimes Rob Grimes has a laid back style with no need to for excessive killing or anything of that nature. Known for his clever rhymes and "eccentric flow," Rob has won many freestyle battles. He has some catchy punch lines that stay stuck in your head. The emcee, who hails from San Diego, California, showcases versatility in his rhymes, and is constantly in the studio recording and rocking live shows (Come see him at the Acrylick flagship store grand opening this Saturday in Azusa). Rob got a buzz going when his "Dillathon" mixtape — a tribute to the late super producer J. Dilla — dropped in February, and he recently released his "Glow In The Dark Mixtape," which is free to download off his Myspace page. I spoke to Rob and an official album titled "Struggle Hustle" is on the way. So look out for it. www.myspace.com/robgrimes

	Emilio Rojas I first saw Emilio Rojas in this Youtube video, Halftime Show 10th Anniversary video (he starts at 3:15 into the video clip). Out of the emcees flowing in that video, he stood out the most. His flow was nice. Emilio sent me this: "I like to draw my inspiration from life experiences. As far as the actual sound — I am into structured verses. I’m not one of these cats that’s out here just relying on ’swag’ to get by — I go in (I can actually rap). But I got ’swag’ too. It’s just real shit; relatable — people get to know me and my life story from listening and hopefully at the same time they can have a little fun and can take something away from that." I agree with his statement, and he is someone you should check out, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed if you’re a true hip hop fan. http://www.myspace.com/emiliorojasmusic

	Asher Roth I came across Asher on the xxlmag.com site, where they featured his "A MILLI’ freestyle. To be honest, I have heard a lot of emcees try to rock that beat, but I was not at all entertained. Asher Roth kept my attention with many funny punch lines.
