I agree with you. People don’t seem to see the potential of selling your own music. I see all type of rappers on myspace that I love their music, and I would buy their music in a second. Buy they don’t make it available to buy. And that sucks.

Great post. this is so important for new artist and very few actually go and do it. People do not realize that you can actually become very wealthy without ever having a record deal if you know how to promote your music. Step one is make it available everywhere. Step two get it in front of as many people as possible and let them know where to go get it.

Thanks a lot for the mention! I’m an intern at tunecore and as always I am honored when we make these shortlists. It’s incredible now how many routes artists have to reach their fans, promote their music, and sell their merchandise – blogs are replacing magazines, digital stores are replacing physical, and now ARTISTS are replacing the traditional labels they used to need in order to succeed (power to the people, woo!)
