If you’re not signed to a big label, and don’t have your CD in music stores across the world. There are easier ways to get your music to your fans then having to physical mail them a disc.
Below are 6 sites to upload and sell your music. Some of these sites offer some great services that can really expand your fan base. So take a look.
snocap.com – I like Snocap because they give you an audio player to embed into your myspace page or website. You can set your own prices. So if your selling a single, or a beat, you set your price. To create a account is free, but they take 39 cents per tack sold.
cdbaby.com – CD Baby is good because you can upload your music, and cd cover, then your album is ready to sell. They automatically put your music on Apple iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, eMusic and many more for you. Plus for the fans who want a physical copy of your CD, CD Baby will send out the CD for you. It’s a $35 setup fee, and they charge a percentage of each sale.
tunecore.com – TuneCore has arrangements with leading digital music retailers that let us place your music in their online stores and subscription services. You get 100% of the money that your music earns from digital distribution.
artists-first.net – Sell albums or singles (physical and digital), ring tones, video and merchandise directly to your customers from any website. There are no setup fees or storage limits. They take 5% of what you sell.
soundclick.com – Get your own Sound Click page for free. Upload unlimited tracks. They take 30% commission. Get paid via paypal.
rocbattle.com – Great site to sell beats and also enter beat battles. They have a free Basic Membership and an Exclusive Membership for 6.95 a month. Check it out

I agree with you. People don’t seem to see the potential of selling your own music. I see all type of rappers on myspace that I love their music, and I would buy their music in a second. Buy they don’t make it available to buy. And that sucks.

Great post. this is so important for new artist and very few actually go and do it. People do not realize that you can actually become very wealthy without ever having a record deal if you know how to promote your music. Step one is make it available everywhere. Step two get it in front of as many people as possible and let them know where to go get it.

Thanks a lot for the mention! I’m an intern at tunecore and as always I am honored when we make these shortlists. It’s incredible now how many routes artists have to reach their fans, promote their music, and sell their merchandise – blogs are replacing magazines, digital stores are replacing physical, and now ARTISTS are replacing the traditional labels they used to need in order to succeed (power to the people, woo!)
Keep up the good work, I’d happily answer any questions about our service (jake@tunecore.com)
Best,
Jake
